Teaching Artist - Sewing

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Ms. Ilena Delorso has served Baltimore City Schools for 25 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Temple University, a Master of Education degree from Arcadia University, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies from Notre Dame University of Maryland. She has taught multilingual learners for 17 years. She takes pride in the accomplishment of her students, and advocates for them to have equitable educational experiences.

Ilena is a National Board Certified Teacher and works as a Lead Professional Facilitator in Baltimore City Schools to assist others in achieving this certification. She believes all students deserve highly accomplished teachers in their classrooms. Ilena has previously held the position of Arts Everyday Coach. She believes that art is a wonderful way to reach all learners, and that we are all artists in our own right. She loves sewing, jewelry making, and hiking in her spare time.
