Star has served as an educator for the Maryland Public School System since 2013. I am committed to serving children in diverse communities and truly understand the importance and value of education.
I obtained my B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences from Morgan State University, an M. Ed. in Career and Technical Education from Concordia University - Portland, and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University. I am a proud member of The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. and Kappa Omicron Nu (KON) National Honor Society.
As a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher and department chair, I am certified to teach several specializations within the content area. I specialize in teaching nutrition and culinary. My biggest accomplishment to date, as an educator, is winning the 2023 Maryland ProStart Culinary Competition.
I believe I am armed with ammunition of determination, a shield of knowledge, and a desire to produce greatness in children. My life's mission is to help, to motivate, and to encourage positive change in youth.
